About the Activity
On this excursion to Santo Domingo, we will follow in the footsteps of Christopher Columbus and discover the heritage of one of the oldest cities in the Caribbean. We will explore the legacy of Columbus while immersing ourselves in the culture of one of the region’s most historic cities.

On the day of the activity, we will begin by picking up participants from their hotel in Punta Cana and head toward Santo Domingo. The beauty of the Dominican capital will captivate you.

Our first stop will be the impressive Los Tres Ojos cave, where we will admire its famous freshwater lagoons and stunning underground caverns. What mysteries does this place hold? We are ready to find out! Afterward, we will walk around the Columbus Lighthouse, where the remains of the famous explorer are believed to rest.

The next visit will take place outside the Presidential Palace, where we will admire the majestic façade of this beautiful neoclassical architectural complex. We will then continue our journey through the historic center, exploring the charming Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo.

We will enter the temple of Santa María de la Encarnación, known as the First Cathedral of the Americas, the oldest cathedral on the continent. There, we will uncover some of its secrets. Afterwards, we will head to Las Damas Street, home to the first stone house built in the New World, and visit the National Pantheon, where prominent figures of Dominican history are laid to rest.

We will continue to Plaza de España, enjoying its beautiful terraces and a magnificent view of the Ozama River. This square is home to the famous Alcázar de Colón, the former residence of the admiral. You will have plenty of opportunities to take memorable photos as we explore its interior.

Next, we will visit a restaurant located in the historic center where a buffet lunch will be served. You will be able to taste typical Dominican dishes such as rice, stews, and beans, accompanied by non-alcoholic beverages. After recharging, we will head to the Malecón area to enjoy a beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea.

Finally, you will return to your hotel, with an estimated arrival time between 9 and 11.5 hours after pickup.
