Location

Cabarete is located in the province of Puerto Plata, on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic, about 20 kilometers from Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Puerto Plata and approximately 40 kilometers from the historic center of Puerto Plata.

History of Cabarete

Several decades ago, Cabarete was a small fishing community that was virtually unknown among international travelers. During the 1980s, it began attracting foreign visitors, especially windsurfing enthusiasts, who discovered that the local wind and wave conditions were ideal for the sport.
